The staff at White Oak Cottages consists of certified nursing assistants, nurses, and an administrator, known as a Guide. A dietician, social worker and a nurse supervisor consult with the staff as needed.
The certified nurse assistants undergo a rigorous training program when they are hired. This training includes intensive training in memory loss and dementia care, culinary preparation, and Serv-Safe certification. This training turns the aides into versatile workers, who provide personal care and manage the household.
Where is the office?
There is only a small staff office because the staff members spend most of their time with the elders. Staff members eat lunch and dinner with the elders, and engage with them throughout the day.
